Our community-based supports focus on helping you build meaningful relationships and a strong sense of belonging. We’ll assist you in developing recreational pursuits and exploring opportunities to connect with others in your community.

Mainstream supports are available to all Australians, regardless of disability. These supports can be accessed through government-funded services and community organisations. They often complement NDIS supports and can help you achieve greater independence and community participation. CSBS encourages our participants to engage in meaningful community experiences and are here to support you  – if there’s an activity, hobby, or pursuit your interested in, we’re right behind you! How can we help with Community Supports

Community Supports FAQ’s

What are mainstream and community supports?

Mainstream supports are services that are available to everyone in the community, regardless of disability. These can include things like public transport, libraries, and parks.

Community supports are specifically designed for people with disabilities and are often provided by non-profit organisations or government agencies. Examples include social groups, respite care, and supported accommodation. CSBS will gladly help you connect with various activities in your community.

What types of community supports are funded by the NDIS?

The NDIS can fund a wide range of community supports, including:

How do I change my NDIS plan to include new community supports?

To add new supports to your NDIS plan, you'll need to have a discussion with your Plan Manager or LAC. They can help you assess your needs, identify suitable providers, and update your plan accordingly.

How does CSBS offer community supports?

We offer a range of community supports tailored to individual needs. Guided by the person-led approach to providing supports we work alongside our participants to ensure they feel empowered. Our Behavior Support Practitioners help you to develop healthier ways to express yourself. We'll create a personalised plan to support your goals, including improving communication, managing emotions, and learning safe responses.

Supported Independent Living

At CSBS, we believe that everyone deserves the freedom to live independently. We work alongside you to create a personalised support plan that helps you achieve your goals. We're with you every step of the way!

High & Complex Needs

CSBS specialise in complex care and personalised support. We help manage daily routines for those with diabetes, epilepsy, wounds, and more. Our Person-led approach makes all the difference.

Hospital to Home Support

We work with you, your family, and your healthcare team to understand your unique needs and find suitable housing options. Our understanding of the NDIS will help guide you.

HIDPA

We deliver high-intensity daily personal activities (HIDPA) for people at home and in the community. Our commitment to providing an exceptional standard of care when delivering high-risk supports sets us apart.
